Position Overview:
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program at our industrial facility. This role will ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The EHS Manager will identify, evaluate, and reduce environmental and safety risks, while providing a safe environment for staff to work in.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, review, and implement EHS policies and programs.
Develop and implement safety training programs.
Monitor and report EHS performance and progress.
Manage safety compliance and ensure proper record keeping is done.
Track and investigate any incidents or accidents.
Develop standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Audit site operations, equipment, and processes for safety and environmental compliance.
Maintain a safe working environment and implement best practices.
Develop and implement corrective actions for identified hazards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in EHS, preferably in an industrial power generation setting.
Working knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Familiarity with safety protocols in a power plant.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is preferred.
Industrial Hygiene (IH) certification from the National Safety Council is preferred.
