Founded in 2017, we are a well funded Aerospace Company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, that is developing artificial gravity space stations for low Earth orbit. As the world's first private space station with a commercial crew, we can accommodate up to 4 astronauts for up to 30 days offering 24/7 communications, consumable needs, privacy/control of time spent, Wi-Fi, a relaxing space with views, and more! Targeted to launch no earlier than 2025.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop new and optimize existing software codebases and systems which will be used to test, command, and monitor the our family of spacecraft.

This position is onsite in Hawthorne, CA.

What You Will Be Doing

- Develop new and optimize existing software codebases and systems which will be used to test, command, and monitor the our family of spacecraft
- Mentor junior software engineers to help build a strong and capable team
- Own the lifecycle of software, including rolling out to operations, managing configurations, maintaining and upgrading, and supporting end-users
- Configure and optimize automated testing and deployment systems
- Maintain and upgrade systems that control our test sites and communicate with our spacecraft at the launch site and on orbit

What You Need for this Position

Required:
- BSCS or related
- 4+ years of experience building full-stack applications
- Primary skills should include ReactJS, JavaScript, Golang, Docker, CI/CD
- Networking (HTTPS, DNS, OSI Network Model, Subnets)

Preferred:
- Direct space or aerospace experience
- Proficiency using the command line, writing shell scripts, and an understanding of the GNU/Linux OS
- Experience building applications in the cloud (GCP or AWS preferred)
- Basic understanding of RF Systems (SDRs, DSP, etc)
