Job Title: Sr. Bio-Sensing Product Engineer - Optical Testing
Job Location: Irvine, CA - Relocation assistance offered!
Compensation: $100K - $160K+ base DOE
Our company's core technology platform was developed with a total focus on high volume manufacture of highly integrated optical/electronic devices. Our large waveguide photonics platform offers multiple benefits over conventional solutions. These benefits include higher density waveguide circuit design, better manufacturing tolerance, superior optical power handling, and a more efficient interface from the photonics IC to the physical domain.
Our company's technology simplifies the manufacturing, assembly, and test process while maximizing the power efficiency of the optical system.
Over half of our team holds advanced technical degrees (M.Sc and PhD) and it includes world recognized experts in photonics process development, photonics device design and modeling, high speed CMOS mixed signal circuits, optical circuit switching, optical sensing and measurement systems, and network systems architecture. Our business leaders have amassed a spectacular track record including in multiple photonics start-ups with impressive investor returns, in growing high volume optical manufacturing at scale, and in forging market-leading communications semiconductor product lines. Together, the team is driving a vision for pervasive silicon photonics across a broad range of high volume applications.
Top Reasons to Work with Us
1) Competitive Base Salary ($100K - $160K+) plus bonus!
2) Comprehensive Benefits package including equity and relocation assistance!
3) The chance to join a small publicly traded Silicon Photonics company with huge upside potential!
What You Will Be Doing
This position is a part of our Sensing Products team that is focused the high-volume manufacture of health care wearables based upon our company's silicon photonic chip architectures. The Sensing Products team is looking for a qualified engineer with an expertise in production-level test of optoelectronic modules for Low rate initial production (LRIP) and contract manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement system-level testing protocols and determine resource and equipment needs to conduct testing for volume manufacturing. This is an integral role where you will support high quality test platforms for our sensing products.
- Lead the development and implementation of our module-level test infrastructure to support Low rate initial production (LRIP) and contract manufacturing
- Work with product teams to develop test plans for new and existing products that include tool automation to increase test effectiveness and best practices to improve test quality
- Develop test programs and write test plans to validate product performance and review technical architecture documents, design documents, and functional requirements to identify any potential defects
- Determine timing and cost required to execute test programs
- Recommend product design revisions based on test data to meet expected performance
What You Need for this Position
BSEE/MSEE or similar degree (PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred) with 2 - 5+ years of relevant experience including:
- Optical Testing & Optoelectronic test equipment
- Hands-on experience in a high-volume production test facility
- Knowledge of lasers, laser operation, reliability testing and opto-electronic testing module / systems-level testing
- Demonstrated understanding of ASIC integration, control systems, signal processing, and device communication protocols;
- Module-level / systems-level testing
- Experience with optical setups in a clinical biology lab preferred
- Optical medical device wearable experience highly preferred
