What You Need for this Position
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance (or equivalent) & at Least 5 Years of experience and knowledge of:
"Full-cycle accounting experience
"Real-estate or property management accounting experience, specifically with multi-family emphasis
"Strong knowledge of excel accounting principles
"CPA (must have) and MBA preferred
"Yardi or related experience is a plus
What You Will Be Doing
" Full-cycle accounting, i.e. adjustments, reclasses, accruals, amortizations & gross potential vacancy/rent loss analysis
"Monthly balance sheet reconciliations & schedules, ensuring proper accruals, amortization/depreciations, true ups, etc.
"Review of monthly property financials docs, assessing completeness & accuracy while collaborating with property & asset management team, providing relevant variance analysis
"Preparing ad hoc reports, i.e. historical trend analysis, etc.
"Communication with external & internal customers i.e. property managers, management, auditors, tax consultants, maintenance staff, etc.
"Assisting with audit requests - i.e. preparation of reports/schedules, general audit inquiries, supporting data & schedules, testing of internal controls, etc.
"System & process improvement assistance, enhancing accounting & financial reporting efficacy
"Researching accounting transactions & financial reporting - i.e. month-over-month variance analysis, budget-to-actual, etc.
"Development & maintenance of SOP's & training documents
"Special projects in conjunction with management, presentations when needed
