We are looking for a senior accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for providing financial and accounting support to our client in the Construction and Real Estate industries. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost analysis, general ledger, month-end close, billing, sales tax, real estate accounting, real estate development, property management accounting, and ERP systems. Experience with QuickBooks and reconciliations is preferred. A CPA is a plus.
Position Overview: The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and performing complex accounting and financial tasks related to clients in the Construction and Real Estate industries. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, conducting complex general ledger reconciliations, researching and preparing account analysis, and developing and implementing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly journal entries and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
Review and analyze financial results to detect and investigate discrepancies.
Develop and maintain process improvements in order to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Assess billing accuracy and develop relevant reports.
Perform complex reconciliations of accounts and transactions.
Research and analyze general ledger accounts.
Prepare sales tax returns and other tax-related schedules.
Assist with real estate development and property management accounting.
Provide support for audit preparation and internal control reviews.
Utilize ERP systems to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
5+ years of experience in an accounting role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience in cost analysis, general ledger, month-end close, billing, sales tax, real estate accounting, real estate development, property management accounting, and ERP systems.
Experience with QuickBooks and reconciliations is preferred.
CPA or preparation to obtain CPA is preferred.
