The Junior Estimator position is an entry-level role that provides support to the estimating team and project management staff. The primary responsibility of the Junior Estimator is to ensure accurate and timely estimating for commercial construction projects. The Junior Estimator should possess a knowledge of construction, strong analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Compile and maintain accurate and up-to-date estimating databases.
Assist in take-off and unit rate preparation.
Review drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
Generate estimates using historical data, verbal information, and drawings.
Assist in the development of bid packages.
Update the estimating database with new information and quote results.
Support Account Managers and Project Managers with pricing and cost information.
Assist in providing accurate estimates for labor, materials, and overhead costs.
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in construction or related field.
Knowledge of commercial construction cost estimation procedures and practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software, and CAD.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
