The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for design, specification, and application of electrical devices including control panels, motors, and instrumentation in engineering contracts. This position will report to the Director of Engineering and is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
What You Will Be Doing
· Take the lead in designing, sizing and selection of electrical equipment and controls systems for projects in accordance with the project specifications and budget.
· Produce and maintain project drawings and documents in compliance with customer specifications, including
o Electrical and control schematics
o P&ID drawings
o Control panel and PLC I/O layouts
o Instrument wiring and hookup diagrams
o Instrument, Motor, Load, and I/O lists
o Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manuals
o Recommended spare parts lists
· Develop necessary control documentation and programming for projects, including PLC and HMI programs, narratives, and sequences of operation.
· Coordinate all electrical and instrumentation design and scope of supply requirements with relevant customer and sub-supplier/third-party vendor counterparts, and review documentation for same.
· Develop and maintain internal electrical and instrumentation standards; work with Pelletron, customer, and ISA data sheets.
· Direct and participate in controls systems FAT testing.
· Support Production/Assembly activities with electrical shop testing of equipment packages prior to shipment.
· Resolve all customer complaints related to assigned projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Develop and create start-up and commissioning plan for customer contracts; produce required documentation.
· Support start-up activities at customer sites as needed.
What You Need for this Position
· Minimum Bachelor's degree (B.S.); and five (5) years related experience and/or training in Electrical Engineering, P&ID drawings, plant process development, and instrumentation; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
· Use of AutoCAD P&ID and AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software package;
· Electrical/instrumentation background or experience preferred. Experience with material handling and pneumatic conveying a plus.
· Ability to read, interpret, and develop documents such as technical specifications, engineering reports, blueprints, office procedures, parts lists, and price book;
· Ability to work independently;
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form;
· Ability to solve practical problems, resolve conflicts, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardized exists;
· Ability to travel to vendors and customer premises;
· Ability to climb ladders to platforms and silos in customer plants.
