Our luxury retail client is looking for a full-time Sourcebook Copy Director to join their team in Corte Madera! This role is onsite 5 days/week.
This Sourcebook Copy Director will be:
- Managing a team of 6-7 editors on the sourcebook team
- Developing an expert understanding in org's style and brand voice, with deep knowledge of the products, the industry, and competitor content and presentation
- Copyediting and proofreading all print & digital sourcebook copy, ensuring accuracy of information and compliance with style guide and brand standards
- Serving as lead on numerous sourcebooks throughout the year, working closely with merchant partners to gather information and updates
- Collaborating with team to formulate sourcebook copy schedules, establish priorities, assign contributors and ensure deadlines are met
- Supporting VP, Brand Copy with high-level messaging strategy and creative copy
- Keeping track of product information updates and maintaining style guide and word list
- Verifying pricing in the Canadian, UK and EU editions of sourcebooks
- Editing and proofing spec sheets, care sheets, creative copy, assembly instructions, signage and hospitality content
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of copyediting for retail/home furnishings experience and/or luxury retail experience highly preferred
- Prior leadership experience; adept at creating a supportive working environment and motivating others
- Must have samples to showcase writing, copyediting and proofreading skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines simultaneously, while paying impeccable attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and can collaborate with multiple stakeholders to meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite
