What You Will Be Doing
In this role, the VP of Preconstruction will manage multiple functions before the construction phase. This includes conceptual estimating, detailed estimating, constructability analysis, value engineering, electrical design, and BIM. You will develop and implement strategies to grow market share up to and past our business's ten-year objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Engineering and Design departments' scalability to accomplish corporate development objectives, systems, procedures, policies, and team structures.
- Actively participate in the Root Cause Analysis of cross-functional problems to enhance company-wide integration.
- Development of a quality assurance program to ensure performance, time management, and effective use of human and capital resources in the Preconstruction Department
- Recruitment, Leadership, and Development of the Estimating and Engineering team
- Oversee preparation of estimates
- Preparation of cost models
- Other duties as needed
What You Need for this Position
- 10+ Years of experience in Construction
- 5+ Years of experience as a Preconstruction Manager
- Strong experience in conceptual estimating on midsized to large commercial building projects (ideally with an emphasis on highly complex designs)
- Bachelor's Degree in a construction-related curriculum or equivalent experience to a 4-year degree
- Strong experience in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, team leadership, and computer skills
- Proficient in Procore, Excel, Word, Access, and ERP Systems
- Strong experience in Building Information Modeling
- Experience in McCormick and Primavera is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
