An independently & Family owned New York-based real estate investment management firm is seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Management Analyst to support its growing multifamily investment portfolios. The firm was established in 1969 and currently has $9.3 billion of institutional quality real estate assets under management. The Analyst will be working on a range of multifamily investment strategies and will be engaged in all aspects of the real estate investment process, including analyzing and executing new investment opportunities; formulating new investment strategies and marketing materials; ongoing financial modeling and liquidity management; and investor reporting.
On behalf of an ultra-high net worth family trust, we are conducting a search for a Trust Accounting Manager. The Trust holds more than 30 institutional real estate properties and multiple operating entities in over 100 operating companies. We are looking for a trusted professional to work for the Trust overseeing its assets and operating companies and to act as a point person between all parties. This professional will ultimately be responsible for accounting, reporting, cash management and administration, including coordination of tax information with such professionals.
This professional will initially work in the offices of an affiliated Global Real Estate Advisory firm reporting to its CFO and work closely with other senior professionals, while learning and transitioning into this role. Ultimately, this person is expected to work in the Trusts office and report to the co-Trustees. This is a hands-on position with growth potential as the Trust grows and moves through generations. Additional resources may be added over time based on the need.
What You Will Be Doing
-Record, track and manage all cash activity, including processing of wires and checks
-Prepare and record journal entries along with analyzing and reconciling all accounts
-Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement and supporting documentation preparation
-Prepare both Trust FMV and Tax books
-Forecasts and budgets for both accounting and tax data
-Prepare and track workpapers for Trust step-ups on real estate assets
-Prepare annual income and principal cash reconciliations for distributions
-Analyze and service all interfamily debt
-Ad hoc reporting as needed
-Develop a system of controls and authorization work flows for the Trustees
-Reconcile bank accounts and analyze source documents and related account information for proper G/L coding
-Track and record investment K1s
-At the direction of the CFO or Trustees, coordinate with Legal and other third-party professionals
What You Need for this Position
-10 years of experience working in a family office or similar setting
-Bachelors in accounting or a CPA
-General knowledge of taxation, particularly of real estate assets
-Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
-Excellent communication skills
-Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Word
-Knowledge of Mitchell Humphrey FMS, Yardi Voyageur or other general ledger systems
