Title: Senior Controls Engineer
Location: Onsite in downtown Coeur d Alene, Idaho
We are the industry leader of Continuous Fiber 3D Printing. We are developing a novel manufacturing method for carbon fiber composite components, primarily for aerospace customers.
We are looking for an experienced and versatile Senior Controls Engineer. Our ideal candidate has experience designing, integrating and testing complex control systems, working with the hardware, software, and test teams. He/she will be comfortable understanding new concepts, programming and testing controls, and communicating results to the broader team. -Develop controls that work with complex toolpathing algorithms on 6- and 7-axis motion platforms
-Develop controls for multi-axis fiber placement heads
-Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, materials, software, test) to execute multi-year product development plans
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
-Developing, improving, and troubleshooting control algorithms for 6- and 7-axis CNC control, custom actuator control, and HMI
-Working with the test team to implement, verify, and troubleshoot
-Working with a team maintaining progress on deliverables while knowing when to escalate risks and issues
Desired Experience:
-Minimum bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, software, or controls engineering
-5 years of experience in a hardware development environment
-Experience coding ladder logic implemented on Siemens hardware
-Ability to interface with cross-functional teams, as well as to collaborate with all stakeholders
-Experience with precision measurement tools to run experiments, record data, and interpret results
-Strong passion and creativity in controls design and execution
-Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating novel hardware/controls/software solutions
-Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
-Additive manufacturing familiarity
