What You Will Be Doing
In this role, you will become a foundational member of the team with the opportunity to play a pivotal role in setting up our new lab space, recruiting a collaborative team of scientists, and advancing novel neuro-related programs to IND while working closely with the CSO, Head of Biology, and VP of Program Strategy and Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and optimize cell-based assays
- Investigate target engagement and mechanism of action
- Contribute to biomarker efforts
- Culture and maintenance of various cell lines (iPSCs, primary human cells, etc.)
- High-content imaging techniques
- Cellular biology techniques (transfection, viral transduction, immunofluorescence, etc.)
- Contribute to regulatory documents
- Coordinate and manage CROs and external collaborators
- Train new scientists and research associates
- Present to internal project teams and key stakeholders
What You Need for this Position
REQUIRED
- PhD + minimum 3 years' experience for Senior Scientist level
- Hands-on experience with cell culture of iPSCs
- Hands-on experience with primary human motoneurons
- Hands-on experience with high-content screening and analysis
PREFERRED
- Proven industry experience in drug discovery
- Solid foundation in molecular biology and biochemical techniques (cloning, qPCR, western blot, etc.)
- Experience in mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial assays and pathways
