What You Will Be Doing
The qualified candidate should have experience with private industry work as well as heavy highway projects. Disciplines include experience in earthwork, concrete work, asphalt paving, underground utilities, minor structures, pedestrian bridges, erosion control and revegetation work. Project sizes vary from $100K to $15M. Projects are both GC and subcontractor based; they include lump sum, unit price, GMGC, design-build, cost plus, bid-build, project partner and negotiated formats.
- Be able to prepare complete estimates for assigned project(s) of all sizes and complexity immediately.
- Comprehensive review of project plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, permits, etc.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepare complete estimates
- Analyze bid abstracts
- Preparation of Prequalification and Bid Packages.
What You Need for this Position
- 5 years of experience estimating civil construction projects
- Experience with preparing/pricing of water control, diversion and dewatering plans
- Experience with conversion factors and unit weights of construction materials (aggregates, soils, concrete, asphalt, rip rap, rebar, pipe, etc.)
- Experience with: Bid2Win / Bluebeam / AGTEK / MS Project
- Experience estimating GC and Subcontractor projects
