What You Will Be Doing
- Screen loan applications to determine the appropriate funding source and program
- Calculate income for all types of borrowers, review complex tax returns and financial statements, analyze various sources of funds, and establish general c-
creditworthiness of potential borrowers
- Review information provided in loan package
- Review and analyze all loan documentation to ensure loans meet agency guidelines
- Evaluate risk as it relates to borrowers, collateral, and transactions
- Provide final approval underwriting of mainly Jumbo and conventional loans
- Underwrite credit, capacity, and collateral in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Complete all required paperwork and forms in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain records, files, and database
What You Need for this Position
- 5+ years of prior underwriting experience or relevant experience with DE and/or SAR/LAPP
- High level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems - Encompass experience is a must
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytic skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work flow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Proficient in DU/LP
- Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
