What You Will Be Doing
The Data Engineer will work closely with other business units to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Data Engineer is also responsible for the implementation of Data Analysis/Data Validation strategies to support development of Data Warehousing & Data Analysis solutions.
The ideal candidate for this role should be able to handle end-to-end Data Integration, DW solutions and Data validations/verifications by taking into consideration the business use cases, objectives and requirements.
" Design, develop and validate various Data Warehousing & Data Analysis solutions.
" Work with business users to establish requirements to achieve business objectives through Data.
" Decompose the business requirements into one or more reusable DW/ETL products.
" Translate business requirements into Data/ETL Solutions
" Performs tasks and duties related to ad hoc analysis, design and processing.
" Ensure effective communication of user requirements.
" Debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting existing Data Warehouse solutions and applications.
" Excellent working knowledge of large data manipulation and data mining using complex SQL.
" Implement data validation/verification strategies, plans and use cases for various Data Warehousing & Data Analysis solutions.
" Experience in writing complex SQL statements to validate data and ETL code based on the data mapping & requirements and perform extensive data analysis to identify the defects.
" Perform detailed Data Analysis, Data Profiling and Data Integrity check using SQL, Shell scripts or any other tools.
" Passion towards giving innovative technical solutions using different tools/techniques.
" Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
" Minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Data Engineer in a Data Warehousing environment.
" Minimum of 2-3 years experience with Data Warehousing tools and technologies (e.g. MySQL or similar database, Pentaho ETL, Java ETL or any other similar ETL tools).
" Able to critically think through defects, issues risks, and action items and determine appropriate course of action.
" Requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities.
" Understanding of Big Data Ecosystems is an advantage.
" Understanding of Snowflake, GCP or MS Azure would help
" Experience in working with Java would be plus.
