We won't ask you to do client-side stuff and we don't expect you to know every bit of minutiae of Rails, but we do expect you're well-experienced and know how to build scalable apps. What separates you from Mr. Really Good Rails Developer is that you have a "complicated" relationship with ORM. Yes, you get all the Rails magic, but you know -- KNOW -- that there are many times when if you want to get something highly performant, you need to know your SQL and know it well.
You have lots of experience with Postgres. You also have some experience with NoSQL database and want to learn and experiment more. You get views, virtual tables, HStore -- and a bunch of other Postgres stuff we mere ORMers can only wonder at. You keep up with the latest in database developments.
Our management team are really supportive. We don't have endless meetings, weekly status reports, etc. We use a Kanban board to keep us from getting overwhelmed and we have realistic deployment dates planned in advance.
