What You Need for this Position
MSEE (PhD preferred) in Phtonics, EE, Physics (or related) & 2-6 Years of professional experience and knowledge of:
- 2+ years of relevant industry or academic work in Opto-electronic devices, Lasers or Photonics
- Experience in a laboratory / clean room
- Experience with fabrication, prototyping, simulation, characterizations, processing, reliability of opto-electronics, photonics or related semiconductors
- Some photonic design tool experience - i.e. Lumerical, COMSOL, BEAMPROP, etc.
- Photonic / Optoelectronic device testing experience
- Python, Matlab, LabVIEW or related software experience for automated data acquisition and/or analysis tools
- Optomechanical design & software
- Must be a good Team Player and work well with other top notch Engineers in a growing startup environment
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, model, debug, prototype photonic, laser & optical systems
- Characterization methods, setups, procedures for testing new designs
- Semiconductor packaging, processing
- Creating performance reports, analyzing device performance
- This is a hands on role - must be willing & wanting to get hands dirty in the lab / cleanroom
- Thinking creatively to solve tough problems, finding solutions
- Working in a fast-paced startup environment building incredible futuristic life-saving products!
