Based out of Plymouth, we are a world leader in the equipment and automotive industry. Due to growth we have an immediate need for a Controls Engineer. Our goal is to bring in an experience engineer, train them in our industry and then start them on a promotion track that leads to a manager position. We are willing to assist with relocation if necessary.
What You Will Be Doing
- coordinate, design, support the build, document mechanical drawings for various equipment from fluid fill automated equipment for automotive industry to pump systems
- prioritize workloads, balance multiple projects simultaneously, work cross-functionally, collaborate with internal stakeholders and customers
- Design and implement cost-effective fluid fill equipment designs, pump systems, and/or modifications to existing designs
- Develop, test and evaluate theoretical designs , Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments
- Ensure product can be made reliably and perform consistently in specified operating environments
- Managing multiple projects within budget using engineering principles and techniques
- Plan, specify, and design production processes per customer specs, produce details of specifications and outline design
- Use research, analytical, conceptual, planning skills (mathematical modeling and computer-aided design)
- Review, redline drawings to ensure it meets customers specifications ,Review customer fabrication drawings, verify proper material for the design and application
- Create a BOM, obtain costs, develop quotes for customer fabrication designs
- Create piece part drawings for fabrication team to the customers final design
- Assist the repair/production depts with technical support, sourcing component parts when needed
- Always consider issues of cost, safety and time constraints
What You Need for this Position
4 + Yrs in process related field ideally
degree in Engineering (ideally mechanical)
Systems, Automation, Process or Fluid Power Engineering experience
Ability to review detail and layout for completion of machine design
Experience in detailing, layout, conceptual design, checking, approving designs before release to shop floor, interface with shop floor as needed
Able work overtime when required , travel as needed (domestic and international)
Experience with Customer interaction, strong verbal and written communication
Can conceptualize new design, follow through to completion
Ability to specify fabrication materials (steel, alum, plastic, etc.)
Ability to size cylinders, transmissions, motor drives, specify welding requirements
Knowledge in electrical systems, design, programming, can review and red line mechanical drawings
Can specify machining requirements
