Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician - CNC, Robotics
Job Location: Palmer, MA
Compensation: $70K - $85K Depending on Experience
As one of the most experienced and integrated aluminum foundries in Massachusetts, we boast a high production facility with in-house production processes from core making and assembly, heat treating, CNC machining, product final assembly and supply chain management. We specialize in complex, highly-cored casting for numerous applications in sizes ranging from a few ounces to 100+ pounds, all produced on state-of-the-art equipment.

What You Will Be Doing
The Engineering Technician will champion projects related to robotic cutting and grinding, foundry automation, process improvements, and documentation.
- Lead all engineering aspects of the robotic cut off and grinding cell, including, programming, troubleshooting, and fixture design
- Create or update process documentation for new and existing manufacturing processes
- Resolves technical problems on the production lines and ensures equipment and machinery compliance with production procedures and process specifications
- Utilize SolidWorks software to create models and drawings
- Mentor operators on best manufacturing practices
- Execute equipment and process validation protocols and reports (IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Design or modify jigs, fixtures, and gages to improve casting manufacturing and quality processes
- Collect statistical production cycle time studies, analyze data, and optimize processes
- Perform structured, root cause analysis of problems and opportunities (Lean Six Sigma)
- Participate in new product launch activities related to feasibility of manufacture
- Lead manufacturing and automation projects.
- Maintain and update project charters, timelines, conduct meetings, obtain quotes, and report milestones to management
- Work with the Maintenance Dept. or outside contractor on preventative and corrective maintenance of the manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling
What You Need for this Position
High School or Trade School diploma with 3+ years experience with the following:
- Machining
- Robotic or CNC programming
- Solid modeling and drawing experience
- Familiar with ASME Y14.5 GD&T and its application
Preferred:
- Associates or bachelors degree in manufacturing, mechanical, mechatronics, or robotics engineering
- Fixture design experience
- Experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
- Casting experience
