What You Will Be Doing
- Augment maintenance staff to assist in maintaining a high level of production by reducing downtime and improving start-up issues, thus freeing up higher skilled artisans for effective maintenance management.
- Automation Technician skills; design and implement production line automation start stop sequences, including installation of motor starters and control wiring.
- Install and program programmable controllers.
- Diagnose and trouble shoot problems via a PLC.
- Install and program VFD's for various motors throughout the plant.
- Install and program HMI's .
- Changing motors and reducers, bearings, sprockets, shafts, belts etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on food manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in developing new control methodologies to increase efficiencies or production.
- Utilizing skill set, maintain optimal operating condition of equipment using company approved practices/policies.
- Train Maintenance Mechanic Tech I (Facilities) to increase skill level in the department.
- Decrease equipment down-time utilizing training and skills.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment mechanical/electrical issues.
- Miscellaneous assigned projects/duties in facility.
- Support the SQF Program and promote food safety.
What You Need for this Position
- 2+ years maintenance experience in high speed manufacturing (Food Manufacturing a plus).
- 2+ years technical training in trade school emphasizing electro-mechanics or high school diploma and equivalent work experience (Associate degree in mechanical engineering preferred).
- Mechanical background and knowledge in general maintenance, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, and refrigeration.
- Good communication skills.
