What You Need for this Position
At least 5 years of experience with Structural Steal
- Estimating experience
- Experience with structural steel/metal projects
- Scheduling experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience with Bluebeam
- Four year educational degree (Plus)
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare overall corporate estimating functions
- Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates
- Recommend what projects to bid, strategies, techniques, etc. on a weekly basis
- Participate in reviews of current status of pending bids and upcoming bids with Operations Manager and President
- Provide assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as required
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as required for projects we have committed to bid
- Provide technical support to the Project Manager, as requested, for awarded contracts, including estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, procuring materials, etc.
- Lead negotiation of vendor/subcontractor pricing and buy-out to achieve maximum gross margin for company
- Monitor and maintain estimating software and pricing service to assure estimates are accurate and department is efficient
