What You Will Be Doing
Provide technical engineering support in the design of hydraulic and pneumatic valves, mechanisms, and adaptations to existing products in accordance with customer requirements, industry, and company standards. Develop solenoid operated on/off and proportionally operated cartridge valves. Develop and support existing hydro mechanical cartridge valves. Responsibilities include:
- Design and development of complex hydraulic cartridge valve products
- Establish and manage design project scope, objectives, timeline, and resources
- Design new products: prepare layouts, create detail and assembly drawings for engineering projects
- Create and implement design modifications to support continuous improvement of existing products
- Perform stress/strain analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), pressure drop, and force calculations to ensure design integrity
- Support and prepare standard mechanical drawing methodology including GD&T
- Support material component supply through vendor capability and design review participation
- Support product and manufacturing engineers through product program launches
- Provide product support as needed to internal and external customers
- Define and direct prototype model builds
- Develop and participate in performance test procedures as necessary
- Participate in design reviews and the development stage gate process as needed
What You Need for this Position
Must have a Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering field with at least 2 years of experience with the following:
- Design Engineer
- Fluid Power
- Hydraulic control systems and valves
- 3D CAD (AutoCAD and/or Inventor)
- FEA
- GD&T
- Willingness to travel internationally 10%
Bonus:
- Fluid Power certifications (CFPS, CFPHS)
- Six sigma training
