Due to growth and demand for our services, we are in need of hiring for a Controller that possesses strong experience with Sage and healthcare

- Overall control over all facets of the accounting, budgeting, treasury, banking, and financial reporting operations for 5 locations
- Creates and oversees the creation and application of internal control processes, rules, and guidelines for the financial sector.
- According to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), establishes and maintains financial record-keeping systems.
- Final responsibility for the creation of information reports, special analyses, financial statements, and financial reports.
- Prepares, checks for compliance with annual budgets and long-term financial plans, and, as necessary, recommends corrective action.
- Gives management advice on long-term planning and strategic consultancy on a variety of topics, including but not limited to financial matters.
- Maintains connections with other parties, including bondholders, investment managers, and bankers.
- Carries out third-party expense reporting and tax reporting with final authority.
- Creates reports that must meet debt covenant requirements.
- Has ultimate responsibility for the auditing financial records and certifying that the financial statements are fairly presented in accordance with GAAP. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, signing management representation letters for auditors and bondholders and bond covenant compliance certificates.
- Controls cash flow, makes investments within predetermined parameters, and keeps track of fund managers' performance in accordance with best treasury function procedures.
- Annually evaluates the sufficiency of insurance coverage and keeps adequate insurance coverage. bears responsibility for all monetary and legal issues relating to contracts for third-party management. All agreements with other parties are examined, and adjustments are suggested.
- Provides support as needed and fills in for the CFO's absence on a limited basis.
- Promotes the organization's mission and values while acting with professionalism and integrity.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment.
- Respects the rules and regulations of the department, human resources, and business.
- Aids staff members with their professional development, training, and mentoring.
- Encourages positive employee conduct and performance, offers ongoing feedback, including the prompt completion of performance reviews, and appropriately compensates workers.
- Interviews potential employees and, after consulting with human resources, decides whether to hire or fire them.
- Contributes significantly to the attainment of corporate goals and objectives, takes part in their development, and enhances departmental communication and quality efforts.
- The implementation of new programs or the recommendation of novel approaches to ensure the greatest caliber of services in the future.
- Ensures accurate, timely, and thorough completion of GL entries and monthly expense allocations to affiliated entities.
- Examines pre-close trial balances for necessary modifications, prepares those adjustments, and uploads them.
- Accordance to the Closing Schedule, punctually closes the GL accounts each month.
- Ensures the creation of a month-end SAGE100 Financial Statements reporting package that is thorough, timely, and accurate and includes comparison financial statements and variance reports for all associated companies.
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the healthcare industry
- Experience with Sage
- Experience in the post-acute care environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Competitive Salary of $112,000 - 125,000
