Job Title: Cloud Architect
Job Location: Orlando, FL - hybrid, this role is partially onsite a few days per week.
Salary: $150-205k
Requirements: 10+ years SW experience, 3+ years as a cloud architect. Military Simulation experience is a plus.
At our Defense & Space company you will have the opportunity to work on the latest modeling and simulation programs for the armed forces of the United States and allies. As a part of our software development team, you will be responsible for the designing cloud solutions that ensure the most sustainable, flexible, secure, and cost appropriate solutions & technology platforms. This position will work very closely with our CTO to bring a legacy system(s) into the Cloud.
We need someone who our CTO can layout a software and system architecture and have high level strategic discussions about the pros and cons of migration strategies, tech stack, and more importantly architecture modifications such as horizontal and vertical scaling, communication protocols, performance concerns etc. from a software architecture perspective.
Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required. You must be able to obtain a security clearance if you don't have one currently.
What You Will Be Doing
Consult with project teams to develop a solution design which is compliant with the architecture and standards.
Ensure successful execution of IT strategies, architecture guidelines and standards and lead project teams through the technology selection and architecture/security governance processes.
Design, build, and maintain scalable IaaS and PaaS systems
Take a legacy distributed system to a cloud-based solution.
What You Need for this Position
Bachelors degree in CS or related field
10+ years of software dev experience
3+ years as a Cloud Architect
Azure and/ or AWS, GCP
Experience with: Python, Bash or PowerShell, etc.
Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
