What You Will Be Doing
You will be expected to work as part of multidisciplinary design teams to plan and execute infrastructure projects for a variety of clients primarily within the industrial, site development, ports/multimodal freight, and manufacturing areas, with additional work with local governments, and State Departments of Transportation. Projects are likely to include reconstruction and rehabilitation of industrial infrastructure such as roads, rail, utilities; highways and roads, bridge replacements, culverts and storm sewer, rail grade crossings, signing, pavement marking, and traffic control plans for construction. Greenfield and Brownfield projects may include site development or redevelopment.
Other responsibilities:
- Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.
- Must be able to complete assignments on schedule and budget
- Must be willing to accept out-of-town travel assignments and to work overtime to meet project demands.
- Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D software is preferred. Comparable experience with Microstation/PowerGeopak/Inroads (OpenRoads Designer)
What You Need for this Position
This position requires the ability to serve as a key member of the project design team developing designs and providing direction to entry level designers and CADD/Technician staff in the areas of civil and site design including, but not limited to; grading, storm water design, rail and roadways, utilities, and agency and railroad coordination.
Other needs:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
- 2-5 years of general civil engineering experience with an emphasis on site development.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and grow relationships with all levels of staff within internal and external agencies and clients.
- Effective oral communication and technical writing ability.
- Experience with railway and/or roadway engineering design is a plus
