Chief Estimator (Established, Multi-sector GC)

Based out of Chico with multiple offices throughout Northern California, we are licensed in California, Oregon, Nevada, and Montana with the majority of our work falling in Northern California. Our partner group is very "hands on" and at the office every day with an active role in our wide range of building projects. As a multi-sector General Contractor with projects ranging from just 1,000 SF to ground up developments over 1000,000 SF- we are expanding our field teams for a leader in commercial and mixed-use/multifamily construction with a number of housing and ground up commercial projects approaching in the Chico, Oroville, Redding, and surrounding areas.

- Train, supervises and assigns responsibilities for estimators on each project
- Visit job sites and proposal sites as required to perform estimates and gather cost data
- Prepare take-offs as necessary
- Receive and analyze subcontractor bids
- Prepares instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required
- Prepare, coordinate, review and distribute estimates in accordance with Company policy and procedures
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
- Participate in the transfer of information on successful projects including the Job Kick-off and Turnover Meetings
- Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs
- Identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs
- Updates cost as necessary based on new information and project scope changes
- Performs other related duties as needed

- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field of study
- 5+ years' experience of experience in Estimating, Preconstruction, or equivalent at the GC-level
- 3+ years of direct estimating and quantity take off experience (preferably, with demonstrated experience on ground up commercial and housing projects up to $20-25 MIL)
- Experienced in blue print reading, estimating and developing budgets
- Recent working knowledge and competence of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project (additional experience with On-Center; On Screen Takeoff or similar Project Management software is a plus)
- Strong preference for candidates with additional field experience
