What You Will Be Doing
- Control panel 120/480VAC power distribution, including load and thermal calculations, SCCR calculations and component sizing
- Control panel layout, component specification (including motor control and power/ancillary components), BoM formulation and material requisitioning.
- Perform designs according to UL 508A/698 standards.
- I/O assignment and connection/loop drawings.
- Single line/three-line drawings.
- Coordinate with our panel shop to implement designs.
- Develop, submit, obtain approval and execute control panel checkout, unwitnessed and witnessed factory acceptance tests.
- Select field devices/instrumentation. Ability to development instrument data sheets is a plus.
- Lead all aspects of software logic development including but not limited to I/O list, I/O configuration, communication channel configuration, PLC/DCS/HMI network block diagram, software address database, modular re-usable logic, comprehensive logic documentation, logical, easy to follow program file organization, security (as required), remote access implementation, networking devices, coordination with vendor supplied equipment, etc.
- Interface with customer representative(s) to develop and present the overall control system such that it meets the requirements of project contract documents and overall system functionality.
- Develop submittals, for approval by the customer, of control panel designs, software logic, control strategies, and test procedures, as required. Test and commission control systems, as part of a project team, in strict validation environments, as are normal in the material handling, water/wastewater or life science industries.
- Provide training to customer personnel on all aspects of the control system implementation and operation. Periodic travel to project locations, as required.
What You Need for this Position
- 3+ years industrial design/control system programming experience in the material handling and water/wastewater industries. Life science experience is a plus.
- Proficient in the design and programming of Rockwell Automation PLC/visualization platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix). Other AB/RA legacy systems (PLC5 and SLC) and PlantPAx experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PlantPAx
- Experience with DeltaV
- Instrumentation Experience
- Experience with Wastewater
- Experience in VMWare/virtualization is a plus.
