What You Will Be Doing
- Supervising and planning field engagements, including financial statement audits, reviews, and various consulting engagements.
- Supervising a team of 2-5 staff members over the course of engagement and provide technical guidance to team while out in the field or in office.
- Recognizing, researching and performing moderately complex accounting areas of the clients balance sheet and income statements.
- Ensuring the completion of clients annual reports on a timely and accurate basis.
- Interacting with clients to identify and resolve field audit issues.
- Exhibiting strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and relationships.
- Documenting the results of the evaluations.
- Developing recommendations and reports based on audits and presenting these ideas to senior management.
- Performing other duties as assigned by partners. You will be analyzing client information such as balance sheets and income statements, preparing working papers in accordance with applicable engagement standards, and performing audits of internal control over financial reporting, including J-SOX.
It would be beneficial is you can communicate effectively and professionally with Japanese-speaking and English-speaking clients both orally and in writing in order to build business relationships with clients. Fluency in Japanese is NOT required!
You will also be assisting in day-to-day client matters including responding to and consulting on client questions and requests.
What You Need for this Position
Qualifications
" An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or a related field.
" A CPA license is REQUIRED at this level
" Preferred but not required: Business-level proficiency with both written and spoken Japanese and English.
" 5 years of experience working in a public accounting firm.
" Basic technological skills, including facility with Excel and Word.
