What You Will Be Doing
The audit manager is responsible for organizing, planning, performing, and managing financial statement audits according to audit plans, accounting services, and other services.
The audit manager is responsible for overseeing the process of the audits, identifying and assessing entity risks, developing testing procedures to evaluate the adequacy of controls, documenting the results of evaluations, developing recommendations of policies, developing professional development and educational training plans for audit staff members, and planning and allocating resources and staff in accordance with skills and schedules.
The audit manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality audit and assurance services and for presenting final audit and assurance reports to management, the Board of Directors, or other members charged with governance.
The audit manager is responsible for assigning staff to audits and projects based on skill, knowledge, and experience of the staff.
The audit manager is responsible for developing in-depth knowledge of GAAP guidelines, reimbursement methodologies, audit methodologies and techniques, processional staff and client relationships, and strong written and oral communication skills.
Professional competence and technical knowledge is maintained by attending continuing professional education courses, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
