What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, developing projections, and for actively providing decision-making recommendations. You will work directly with the CFO to increase the efficiency of the accounting department by implementing procedures that ensure the accuracy of closing processes.
Job tasks include (but may not be limited to):
- Oversee corporate and property accounting desk and ensure accurate and timely dissemination of monthly financial statements, audits, and other financial information
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and information while overseeing AP activity
- Process efficiencies and analyze expenses for savings opportunities
- Maintain general ledger and payment processing systems and verify the integrity of data, processes, and systems
- Assist with asset management including sales, refinances, property insurance, cash flow, property condition, and rehab projects
- Contribute to management of investor communications, distributions and partner buyouts
- Help out with property insurance, audit & tax reporting, and CPA firm management
- Perform high-profile projects that consist of complex financial modeling, project fund development, and owner communication
- Implement Yardi initiatives to increase efficiency
- Compile reports as requested by corporate staff and shareholders
- Serve as a leader of the accounting department
- Control the efficient processing of cash/treasury management transactions
- Ensure that bank reports and loan covenants are compliant with regulations
- Mentor department staff in a positive and influential manner
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
- CPA required
- 8 years of progressive accounting-related experience with preference for real estate industry
- 4 years of leadership/supervisory experience
- Proficiency in RealPage, Yardi, or related software
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to lead a team
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Capable of maintaining professional relationships with employees, vendors, and other parties
- Strong communication and organization skills
- COVID-19 vaccination strongly requested
