What You Will Be Doing
- Support Business Development and Marketing with specific components of RFQ/RFP as required
- In collaboration with Marketing, prepare presentations for project pursuits as required
- Participate in project interviews as required
- Develop site capacity studies and/or design documents as required
- Attendance at industry events (i.e., conferences, workshops, seminars)
- Lead the design efforts of one or more project designs (contingent on size and complexity of project) from commencement through
jurisdictional approval.
- Establish design concepts and criteria with Design Directors & Principals
- Communicate design concepts and criteria to supporting design team members
- Responsible for design-related tasks such as:
- Prepare and as required, deliver design presentations
- Supervise design drawings produced by Project Designers, Designers and Emerging Professionals
- Coordinate building design with consultants, as required
- Collaborate with and support the Project Manager with design related requirements of the adjacency having jurisdiction
- Collaborate with Interior designers
- Meet project deadlines and schedules
- Design to the project budget requirements, and propose alternatives as required
- Support Construction Administrator as required
- Provide guidance to junior team members
What You Need for this Position
- 10+ years of full-time work as a Designer in an architectural firm working on Senior Housing, Student Housing, Multi-Family, or hospitality
projects
- Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Strong graphic and verbal communication skills
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team in a design effort
- Ability to interact directly and effectively with design principals, directors, clients, and other project staff
- Ability to be organized and complete multiple tasks
- High-level understanding of design related code and safety requirements
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials and construction techniques
- Software fluency: Revit, SketchUp, Adobe CC, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Office, Lumion or equivalent rendering skills is a plus
