After graduating from Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, I took my first job as a recruiter at a recruiting agency. I found that recruiting made the transition from being a full-time student to becoming a working professional much easier than I anticipated. Although I both enjoyed and excelled at recruiting from the start, it took more time for me realize that taking this job was a not just a good choice, but ultimately the right choice. It turned out I had picked a job that would start me along my ideal career path. Now, with two and a half years of experience under my belt, I have only grown more confident that I made the right decision. Throughout my years in recruiting I have gained a wide variety of market experience including healthcare, financial and banking, administrative, creative, and technical. Coming from an agency background, I know that I excel in a fast paced environment and understand that in order to be successful in the recruiting industry, one must be able to work as quickly as possible without compromising the integrity of their work. Throughout my experience I’ve found that the key to this is successful communication. Knowing what the client wants in a candidate, understanding what the candidate wants in a position, and finding the Right match for both. It is this type of communication that is an asset in a professional and successful business relationship.
