Job Applicants - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why haven't I heard back from the recruiter? I believe I am a perfect fit.
CyberCoders' clients demand very specific skill sets and backgrounds for the candidates of the positions they need to have filled. Unfortunately, we are not able to immediately respond to every applicant. If you meet every requirement listed in the job ad, reside within commuting distance or can relocate, and your salary is within the job salary range, then you are welcome to email the recruiter directly. Their email address can be found in the job ad to which you applied.
  • I really like the recruiter that I am working with, but I like another posting I see. May I use multiple recruiters at CyberCoders?
Yes! You are welcome and encouraged to apply to as many positions for which you are a match.
  • Why are some recruiters more responsive than others
Due to current workload, some recruiters may be able to respond more quickly than others. If you are a great fit for the position, the recruiter will be in touch with you.
  • When is it appropriate to ask for the client name?
Typically, the recruiter will share the client name with you once the recruiter interviews you, is confident in your skills and background, and believes you are a great fit for the position.
  • What if I am a perfect fit, but my salary expectations are higher than the posting or my relocation requirements are not a match?
The salary range listed is generally as high as the position will pay. We would encourage you to look for other positions in your area that more closely match your salary and location requirements.
  • What if the recruiter sent in my resume to the client but it has been two weeks and I have not received any feedback?
Typically, this means the recruiter has not received feedback yet from the client regarding your profile. The recruiter will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible. You are always welcome to check in with the recruiter to learn more about your status in the process for each position.
  • Is it ever appropriate to contact the client directly?
Since the recruiter works on behalf of your best interest it is always best to defer any client communication to the recruiter. Only when the recruiter specifically informs you to contact the client is this a good time to do so.
  • I received an email about a job requesting that I answer a few questions on your site. Do I need an account to do that?
It is always best to create an account with us as we have 80 recruiters who will then be able to review your resume and experience for open positions. With an account, you will automatically be logged in to view all of the jobs to which you wish to apply. You may also create saved job searches (job alerts) that enable you quick access to possible jobs in your area of expertise. We have made the process to create an account very quick and easy!
  • I cannot remember my password, how do I go about resetting it?
We have provided a password reset feature on our site. Simply type your email address on this page, and a link allowing you to reset your password will be sent to your email inbox shortly.
  • I tried to apply via the link provided, but was not able to upload my resume! What should I do?
Please email your resume directly to the recruiter if you have difficulty uploading it via the web site. It is always best, however, to apply through our site and answer the skills analysis and short answer section. Those answers are reviewed along with your resume.
  • Once I post my resume on the CyberCoders website, do you advertise it elsewhere online?
Never! CyberCoders keeps all of your personal information 100% confidential!
  • I don't want my current employer to know that I am searching for other employment. Can prospective employers view my resume?
No! Your information is kept strictly confidential. If a recruiter determines your background to be a good fit you will be contacted and the recruiter will discuss the details of the company before sending your profile to them.
  • I am willing to relocate. Is there more that I can do with my profile to obtain maximum exposure?
Yes! Simply make sure that you have "Open to relocation" checked on your CyberCoders profile. You can check your profile here: http://www.cybercoders.com/Profile.aspx
  • I sent my resume a few minutes ago – should I be sending it again for every job I am interested in? Or can I just refer to them?
You only need to send us your resume on the first job you apply to, or if something needs changed on your existing resume. We will automatically attach your most recent resume to your job application each time you apply!
