What You Will Be Doing
As a Tax Director or Senior Tax Manager or Tax Manager of the Tax Department, you will work to design and implement processes to effectively manage and provide tax and accounting services to our clients, resolve complex tax issues and take an active role in our internal management and business development.
You will be responsible for reviewing business, individual and trust tax returns; providing guidance and reviewing general accounting services; and recognizing, researching, documenting and resolving technical tax issues.
Things you will assist with include: overall departmental responsibilities including engagement scheduling and departmental hiring; coordination and presentation of internal CPE events; and proposals and business development for new and prospective clients.
Last but not least, you will be asked to supervise/mentor team members assigned to client engagements and/or assignments, and work closely with and directly communicate with principals, managers and other team members.
What You Need for this Position
At least 7 years of tax compliance/ accounting experience at a public accounting firm with:
- CPA license required
- A general understanding of Internal Revenue Code Subchapter C, Subchapter K and Subchapter S
- Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology
- A commitment to continuous learning
- Excellent supervisory, analytical and leadership ability
- An ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services and possess strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, analytical and research abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
- Proficiency in Thompson Reuters software platforms a plus
